Grocery Outlet

Monday, January 12, 2009

If you have never been to a Grocery Outlet, you need to go. This is one of my favorite stores to shop at. They usually don't carry the same products all the time, but there are awesome deals. They have some unusual items that you may not find in your grocery store, and great deals on other items. There are food items, toys, blankets, paper products, clothing items, meats, fruit, dairy, cleaning products and a lot more.

So, if your area has a Grocery Outlet, check it out. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Awesome Deal

Sunday, January 11, 2009

Today, we went to JoAnne's and Big Lots, just to look around a bit. I wanted to get some fabric at JoAnne's to make neckerchiefs for the dogs. I was surprised when we got there, they had so many Christmas things that were 90% off. I got a few cute stockings and other decorations for super cheap. The stockings were regular $19.99 and I got them for $1.98. I don't know where my receipt went, but I saved $131, all together.

At Big Lots we didn't really buy anything much. Some crackers and cookies for Cam's lunch, 40 packs for $5 and 18 packs of Mentos for $5.

I am off to go and cut the fabric for the dogs
neckerchiefs. They are going to be the most festive dogs on the block.

Savings for January 10th

Saturday, January 10, 2009

I needed printer ink. Actually, I needed ink for about a month, but just haven't gotten around to buying it. In my email, I had an offer from HP. I usually don't bother with them, I just buy the ink at Target, but decided to look at it. If I buy a combo pack, I got a discount and a free calculator, and free shipping. So, I decided that that was a good deal, I didn't have to go the store and wind up getting more than I needed and a free calculator. The combo pack was $34.99, after a $5.99 discount. The calculator was FREE, after a $5.99 discount. That was a savings of $11.98 plus I received FREE next business day shipping. I'm not sure how much that was, but I'll get it by Tues.

So, the lesson learned today, was even if you normally don't check email offers, go ahead and do so. You may find an unexpected deal.

Free Magazines

I hardly ever pay for magazine subscriptions. And I get a lot of magazines, but I get them all for free, or for very low prices. So, here are two magazine subscriptiojs you can get for free. Woman's Day and Shape. Click on the link to get a full year of each of them.

New Year Resolution

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

This year my New Year resolution is to get as much free stuff and save as much money as I can. I try to do it every year, but this year I am going to try and keep track and see how much I save at the end of the year. So, I guess I will share and take you on my journey and maybe you can save too.

So far I have saved quite a bit already. I bought a 3 year magazine subscription to All You. This is a cool magazine because it has tons of coupons in it. The magazine subscription is almost $36, a year. I got 3 years for $30.

Yesterday, we went to Steve & Barry's. They are a clothing store that filed for bankruptcy. I'm not sure if all the stores are closing, but we went to the one in Vancouver, WA and they are closing. Josh got 3 pairs of jeans and 3 shirts. I got 3 pairs of pants and 5 shirts. We paid $30 for everything.

And today, Hickory Farms has a 75% off sale. I also had a coupon code for an additional 15% off. I bought 2 sausage and cheese packages for $10 each and petite fours for $4.75. Everything including shipping was $32. The sausage was originally $40 each and the petite fours were $20.

So far I have spent $92, but saved $266. Not too bad, I must say.
